What matters now

  • A fairly wide model range ($19.83 to $40.41) leaves room in how you read the outcome.
  • The price sits in the lower half of our model range, the side with the larger margin of safety.
  • Read the verdict with care: some models are missing inputs, so the estimate scatters more than usual.

Analysis

Sony Group Corp (SONY) currently trades at $24.96, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is $28.28, implying the stock looks roughly 11.7% undervalued today. The Quality Score stands at 65/100 (solid quality), in the Technology sector. Bull case: the Multiples group reads highest at a median of $34.32 per share, and 6 of the 16 models we run sit above the $24.96 price. Bear case: the Asset-Based group reads lowest at $6.07, and 10 of the 16 models stay below the price. Evidence for this calculation is medium.

Over the trailing twelve months, Sony Group Corp generated revenue of $12.5T at a net margin of −2.6%. Revenue grew 15.4% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 12.4%. The balance sheet holds a net cash position of $542B. Fundamentals as of Aug 29, 2026

Our scenario range runs from $19.83 (bear case) to $40.41 (bull case); at $24.96, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 18% below its 52-week high and 27% above its 52-week low, currently below its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Technology peers we cover trades at −34% fair-value upside, at 13%, SONY screens cheaper than that median.

Fair Value models

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted, family-balanced blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small. Every input is real reported data, nothing guessed.

Model Bear Bear = the cautious scenario: the same model computed with conservative anchors (lower growth, margins and valuation multiples). Together with Bull it frames a plausible valuation range, not a price target.BaseBull Bull = the optimistic scenario: the same model computed with favourable anchors (higher growth, margins and valuation multiples). Together with Bear it frames a plausible valuation range, not a price target. Evidence
