What matters now

  • The price sits above even our optimistic bull case (R$7.50). The favourable scenario is already priced in.
  • Weak quality (36/100) and above fair value at the same time, the margin of safety is missing on both counts.

Analysis

Metalurgica Gerdau S.A (GOAU3) currently trades at R$9.95, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is R$6.85, implying the stock looks roughly 45.2% overvalued today. The Quality Score stands at 36/100 (below-average quality), in the Basic Materials sector. Bull case: the DCF Models group reads highest at a median of R$31.37 per share, and 13 of the 25 models we run sit above the R$9.95 price. Bear case: the Earnings-Based group reads lowest at R$2.04, and 12 of the 25 models stay below the price. Evidence for this calculation is medium.

Over the trailing twelve months, Metalurgica Gerdau S.A generated revenue of R$69.2B at a net margin of 0.8%. Revenue declined 3.8% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 3.1%. Net debt stands at R$10.6B. Fundamentals as of Aug 28, 2026

Our scenario range runs from R$4.50 (bear case) to R$7.50 (bull case); at R$9.95, the current price sits above that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 4% below its 52-week high and 60% above its 52-week low, currently above its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Basic Materials peers we cover trades at −22% fair-value upside, at −31%, GOAU3 screens richer than that median.

Fair Value models

This estimate rests on fiscal year 2025 figures, and about 8 months have passed since. In that time the company retained roughly R$0.0656 per share, which is 1.0 % of the fair value. The fair value deliberately does not add this in: the models value reported figures, not a projection.

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted, family-balanced blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small. Every input is real reported data, nothing guessed.

Model Bear Bear = the cautious scenario: the same model computed with conservative anchors (lower growth, margins and valuation multiples). Together with Bull it frames a plausible valuation range, not a price target.BaseBull Bull = the optimistic scenario: the same model computed with favourable anchors (higher growth, margins and valuation multiples). All values are scores from 0 to 100 (100 = best against fixed, research-based bands), not percentages. The three market factors (momentum, 52-week proximity, low volatility) are displayed but carry zero weight in the headline number: market sentiment is not a business property.
